The main Festival is an annual spring event with gardens open in October and through early and mid-November and the third weekend.
A smaller Festival, Autumn Delights is held in autumn over the first weekend of May.
The Festivals highlight gardens of the countryside in the hinterland of the South West.
There is a continental climate, less moderated by the sea than the coastal areas, and in which gardens and all things horticultural flourish. The countryside is noted for its steep slopes and winding valleys that provide picturesque backdrops to many of the towns and the gardens. Tall timbers grow here - both native and exotic. Orchards, vineyards and vegetable fields are prominent elements of the landscape.
