Montaza at Balingup

We have sold our house and garden in Bridgetown, in the heart of the South West of Western Australia, in order to move to a property 30 kms further north with a plentiful water supply and have named the property "Montaza" which is a significant name for my family.

The name is of Egyptian origin first used by my grandfather for his house in Oakleigh, Victoria, when he returned from the Middle East after serving at Gallipoli in 1915.

My property at Bridgetown was called "Montaza" for over a decade and now with our move to Balingup we will be using the name again.

Enjoy the hill country of the South West,

Watch for our new venture with the Montaza garden at Balingup, coming late in 2008. Later we will have self-catering accommodation from 2009 in an early settlers' cottage, Almond Tree Cottage.

Almond Tree Cottage was built sometime in the early 20th century. Two massive almond trees near the cottage are remnants of the early plantings.
